COVID19 Update
March 19, 2020
To our clients and friends,
The COVID19 reports by all government authorities state that the key to slowing the spread of the virus is social distancing.
We have always welcomed our clients to come to our office for in-person meetings. However, we are implementing precautionary measures to promote the safety and health of our personnel and wish to minimize visits to our office.
The President has directed, and Treasury announced earlier this week, a deferral of tax payments due April 15th including a waiver of penalties and interest for most taxpayers. Details of this general announcement are not yet available, but we expect guidance to be released soon.
For our efforts to decrease the virus transmission rate, we are cancelling all non-critical meetings. If conditions worsen or guidance changes, we might close our offices until the pandemic subsides. For now, our office will remain open with limited hours and personnel. If you or someone in your family is sick, or if you recently traveled to a location where there has been an outbreak, we ask that you not visit us.
We encourage you to send us documents electronically or by mail. If you do come to one of our Burlington offices and the door is locked, you may drop a package in the door mail slot. For our Greensboro office, if you must hand deliver a package, please call in advance to assure someone will be present to receive.
Most of our team is working from home until at least March 30th. We are equipped with secure technology resources that should allow our team to serve clients without interruption regardless of location. Further we continue to be available to you by phone and email.
We are making every attempt to ensure that our policy changes will have minimal impact on our service to you.
We are monitoring what types of incentives, tax changes and economic stimulus might be implemented to address this economic crisis.
