With the new year comes the start of a new tax season. As you begin to gather your 2024 personal income tax documents, we want to remind you about our SafeSend Organizer. You can use SafeSend to answer your organizer questionnaire and safely and quickly digitally upload your tax documents. It is important to remember SafeSend is for your personal income tax documents only. Utilizing SafeSend Organizers saves you time from having to deliver physical documents to our office.
To get started, you will receive an email from Gilliam Bell Moser at noreply@safesendreturns.com . The email will contain a “Let’s get started” link to your
SafeSend organizer and engagement letter. It is recommended to use Google Chrome to open this link.
Once you have logged in, you will be taken to the home page for your SafeSend organizer. From here you can sign your engagement letter, answer your questionnaire, complete your organizer, and upload your documents. If you are married, only one spouse is required to the sign the engagement letter. Please answer all questions in the questionnaire, as they are relevant to the current year tax return. Unanswered questions can lead to confusion and delays in preparing your income tax return. As you complete your organizer, you can save your organizer and come back later to finish it. Best practice is to wait until all your documents have been uploaded and the organizer completed before finishing and submitting.
You can upload source documents as you fill out your organizer or even after you have submitted your finished organizer. There is no need to upload a document more than once. For example, if you upload your W-2 to your organizer, you do not need to resubmit it at the end when you upload additional source documents. Please upload clear, legible documents saved as separate files. PDF files are preferred. Most financial accounts that generate tax forms now have online access. You can download and save your tax documents to your computer and quickly upload to SafeSend. On the organizer pages, there is also a notes box where you can add notes for your tax preparer. SafeSend is safe and secure. We prefer you upload documents directly to SafeSend in lieu of emailing them to your preparer.
