Gilliam Bell Moser’s staff stepped out of the office and on to a construction site to help Habitat for Humanity of Alamance County. Our staff spent two days working on a house that will become a home for a much deserving family. Habitat for Humanity provides homes for families by bringing the community together to complete these homes. Habitat relies on the community’s assistance for each phase of construction.

Our staff took on many tasks that are not normally completed in their typical workday. They also had the opportunity to use and learn about tools that are not part of their everyday office. The GBM staff took part in the finishing touches of the home by painting, hanging bathroom hardware, assembling and hanging closet organizers, setting vanities, and much more. This is not the first time GBM has hit the job site with Habitat for Humanity. Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Alamance County has become a yearly service opportunity, as a way for GBM to give back to the community.

Nonprofit organizations are a vital part of every community. They fill in the gaps to meet the needs of the people. Assisting and partnering with nonprofits benefits everyone, including the volunteer. Our staff enjoys getting out of the office and taking part in these Habitat builds. It’s a good feeling to know you had part in giving someone a home. Remember that community service benefits many people, can be done in a short amount of time and is well worth every minute spent.
